It was the first time Microsoft has displayed Windows Phone 7 Series on a branded phone.
At the Engadget Show, Aaron Woodman, Director of Microsoft Corp., introduced the key features of the Windows Phone 7 Series and showcased an early prototype of a Windows Phone 7 Series-compatible LG phone to show the Start screen, Bing search engine and other multimedia options.
The phone used at the show was designed to be the perfect match for Windows Phone 7 Series’ new features, which offers a compelling and unique user experience. Since creating a strategic alliance at Mobile World Congress 2009, LG and Microsoft have been working closely together to bring Windows Phones to the market while establishing momentum in smartphones. Although details of LG’s first Windows Phone 7 Series handset have not yet been finalised, LG is aiming to release its first device to market in the fourth quarter of 2010.
