Motorola is in talks with all Indian telecom service providers to launch iSIM, which is a flexible wafer that can be attached to the original SIM, allowing the user to access four numbers on the same handset.
Motorola's iSIM is based on a flexible wafer that can be attached to the subscriber's original SIM providing additional services that can be controlled via SIM tool kit (STK) allowing third party developers to build applications and services.
Motorola iSIM (intelligent SIM) is a flexible and powerful platform that helps mobile operators and enterprises to enable mobile lifestyle experiences effectively and efficiently. iSIM empowers service providers with ease, flexibility and freedom to implement compelling end-user applications services in a cost-effective manner and to drive adoption.
The unique 15-digit International Mobile Subscriber Identity is found on SIM cards and Motorola iSIM approves four of IMSI numbers. Motorola iSIM also bids enormous user-friendly apps like 'Killer SMS' that led the mobile to get blocked or reset when it is lost or stolen. The users who will use IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity), can switch between different phone numbers provisioned to different networks, or the same network, without changing SIMs.
Motorola has already deployed the iSIM platform in Europe, Middle East, Africa and now is in talks with Indian operators for deployment in India. Thanks to Motorola, smartphone users will soon be able to use up to four phone numbers in a single handset, without even having to buy a multi-SIM one.
